Andrea Giamfortone Wilson was elected to Council Position Number 2 on May 9, 2015 to serve a three year term. Wilson was elected for a second term in May 2018.
Andrea is "BOI" - Born on the (Galveston) Island. Her family moved to LaMarque, Texas when she was in grade school. She moved to the Clear Lake area after high school and has resided in Webster for over 30 years where, incidentally, she met her husband, Henry, of twenty-six years and raised their son, Andrew (24), Aggie class of 2014. The Wilson family has two black Labrador Retrievers (Baby and Duke), a Blue Heeler (Chaser) and a registered Texas Longhorn (Oreo)! They chose to build a life together in Webster because of the safe, friendly, home-town community environment that has been Webster's hallmark.
With a career in many facets of healthcare operations spanning 35 years, she has served as an upper-level leader, hiring, training and developing hundreds of employees to successfully meet the mission of the organization. She has a Master of Arts degree in Behavioral Sciences (clinical psychology) and a Bachelor of Science degree in Health, Leisure and Sports (with an emphasis in exercise physiology) from the University of Houston Clear Lake.
Throughout her career, she served as a volunteer on many for-profit and non-profit organizations with the mission to foster change, provide opportunities, or improve the quality of life of others. To name a few, she served on the City of Webster Parks and Recreation Board and as the Community Liaison for the Clear Creek Independent School District Bay Area Alliance for Youth and Families. She currently serves as the Chairman on the Advisory Board for the NASA Longhorn Project and is on the Speaker's Committee for the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo.
Councilwoman Wilson states her goal is work with the City to further enhance the quality of life for our residents and position the City for continued expansion so that Webster remains the "City of Choice" for developers, businesses and employees.
